Reverse Linking & General Relinking
Reverse Linking
Point Linking
Utilizing the SKU Override Function
There are a number of reasons why you may want/need to manually link or re-link one of your ASIN's to a pre-existing Amazon ASIN.
- Your UPC in Quipt does not match the ASIN
- A higher sales rank may already exist on Amazon for that same item
- Amazon may have deactivated your existing ASIN for various reasons:
- You are no longer authorized to list those particular items due to brand gating
- Your detail page has been removed due to bad reviews or poor seller performance
The following will show you how to re-link an item which already exists in your inventory to a pre-existing Amazon ASIN. Note, this process can take longer than when linking an item for the very first time
Reverse Linking
-
Locate the Quipt SKU for the item you wish to link/build to the Amazon ASIN.
- If the item exists in Amazon Seller Central, please delete the record.
Zoom:
Amazon will ask you to confirm that you want to delete the product and listing. Click 'OK' to acknowledge this and move forward. Your SKU will not be deleted if you do not click 'OK'. - After successfully deleting the item, use the inventory search option to confirm the item is no longer found in your inventory.
-
Now that the item is no longer in your inventory, you can find the pre-existing ASIN you want to link to on Amazon.
-
- To do this, open a new Amazon inventory window.
- Click "Add a product"
- Enter the ASIN you want to sell or search the item's MPN or other useful information to locate the desired AIN
- Once the ASIN is located, notate the UPC.
- Continue the product creation process in Seller Central:
- Seller SKU from Quipt SKU
- Your price = Quipt SRP
- QTY from Quipt
- Condition should match this guide. Note that Renewed ASINs have a "New" condition code.
- Save
-
- Back in Quipt, you will paste the 'UPC' you noted from Amazon into the MapID section of the items' Amazon modal.
- After inserting the UPC into the MapID, change Content Status to "Accepted" and Inventory Status to "Pending Export"
Point Linking
If you have not published your item on Amazon yet and know the Quipt UPC does not match the Amazon ASIN's UPC you can use the MapID field to point Quipt in the right direction.
- Confirm the Quipt SKU does not exist in your Amazon inventory search
- Locate the item's corresponding ASIN and/or the UPC associated with the ASIN.
- Enter the ASIN or the ASIN's UPC into the MapID field
- Change Content Status to "Pending Export" and Inventory Status to "Pending Export"
- If done correctly, the item should be live within 3-6 hours of completing step 4.
It is important to note the condition codes matter when using the point linking process.
Follow this guide for condition:
Quipt Certified Refurbished = Amazon Renewed - Excellent
Quipt Refurbished = Amazon Renewed - Good
Quipt Scratch & Dent = Amazon Renewed - Acceptable
Quipt New = Amazon New
Utilizing the SKU Override Function
If the SKU you want to link to does exist in your Amazon Inventory but does not match the Quipt SKU and you have not registered a transaction in Quipt for the desired Quipt SKU, you can use the "SKU Override" field to enter the Amazon SKU to link the item.
The general linking rules still apply from the above steps. The UPC/mapID fields need to match the ASIN in which you are selling.
