Within the orders modal, you might see items with the status 'Action Required - Invalid SKU(s)'.
Causes:
Typically, an order might fall into this status when the SKU listed in the order file does not match any SKU built out in Quipt. This can be for a number of reasons:
- The item might be out of stock, and the feed may be turned off, which prevents Quipt from 'seeing' the SKU.
- The item might have been built out directly in a channel portal, and not Quipt, so when an order gets placed and shows up in Quipt, Quipt does not recognize the SKU.
Fixes:
Fixing this issue involves a few steps.
- The first thing to check is that the item exists in Quipt and has inventory.
- If the item's feed is turned off due to a lack of inventory, you can choose to:
- add more inventory if you have it, and fix the order.
- cancel the order due to a lack of inventory.
- If the item's feed is turned off due to a lack of inventory, you can choose to:
- If the item does not exist in Quipt, then you will need to build the listing in Quipt and link the new SKU to the order manually. To do so:
- Go to the inventory tab and click 'Create Inventory' in the upper right hand side. You will go through the traditional create inventory process to create a new inventory item in Quipt.
- Note: Use the same SKU, minus special characters, which was used when the item was originally built out in whatever portal it was sold in. Ex. If the item was built out in Amazon, and the order has come through Quipt via Amazon, then when you are building the SKU, you should use the same SKU which was used in Amazon (minus all special characters eg. MD101LL/A would be MD101LLA)
- After you have built the item, copy the new SKU for later use.
- Go to the Orders tab and find the 'Invalid SKU' line item.
- Click the 'Fix SKU' option. Paste the new SKU in the 'New SKU' box, and hit 'Update' to save changes. This ensures the order will be pushed through in Quipt.
- Go to the inventory tab and click 'Create Inventory' in the upper right hand side. You will go through the traditional create inventory process to create a new inventory item in Quipt.
