Channel Sync Guide

This guide will walk you through the steps to successfully sync your channel with eBay using Quipt's SmartSync feature. Please follow each step carefully to ensure a smooth integration.

Launch Requirements

1. Complete the connection in Quipt using SmartSync.
2. Log into eBay.
3. Open Credentials and use the in-app "Authorize flow to generate your API token. Once this step is complete, select "Test Connection". If your test is successful, move on to the next step.
   
4. Fill out your partner policies.

Note: Changing your eBay login password will invalidate these credentials and you will need to "Reauthorize" after the new password is set. Please enroll in the Invalid Partner Credentials notification so you are aware of every time you need to Reauthorize.

eBay Refurbished Conditions

If you have been approved for exclusive conditions such as eBay Seller Refurbished or Certified Refurbished, please list the final subcategory types you have been approved for at the bottom of Partner Policies:

Note: "All" is an option if your account has been approved for all categories/brands.

Setting Up Your eBay Channel

To ensure proper synchronization, you will need to set up a few key components within your eBay account. These include Business Policies, Categories, and Shipping settings.

Business Policies

eBay Business Policies streamline the listing process by allowing you to pre-define payment, shipping, and return preferences. Quipt leverages these policies for efficient channel synchronization.

• Payment Policy:
  • Ensure you have a default payment policy set up. This typically includes PayPal and any other payment methods you accept.
  • Important: This policy must be marked as "default" in your eBay Business Policies.
• Shipping Policy:
  • Create or verify a default shipping policy. This should cover your preferred shipping services, costs, and handling times.
  • Important: This policy must be marked as "default" in your eBay Business Policies.
• Return Policy:
  • Define a default return policy, outlining your return window, refund options, and who pays for return shipping.
  • Important: This policy must be marked as "default" in your eBay Business Policies.

Note: Having default policies prevents errors during listing synchronization and ensures that Quipt can correctly apply your preferences.

Synchronization Best Practices

Follow these best practices for optimal channel synchronization:

• Using Auto Feed Rules
• Regular Audits: Periodically review your eBay listings and Quipt synchronization logs to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
• Product Data Quality: Ensure your product data (titles, descriptions, images, attributes) is complete and high-quality in Quipt before syncing to eBay.
• Error Monitoring: Pay attention to any error messages or warnings from Quipt regarding your eBay channel and address them promptly.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you encounter issues during synchronization, consider the following:

• API Token Expiration: eBay API tokens can expire. If synchronization fails, try re-authorizing your connection in Quipt.
• Policy Changes: If you change your default business policies on eBay, ensure they are updated in Quipt if necessary, or re-verify that the correct policies are still flagged as default on eBay.
• eBay Account Status: Ensure your eBay account is in good standing and has no restrictions that might prevent listing or selling.
